Mastered New EP from Death Valley Pornstar
Death Valley Pornstar asked me to master their new EP. They worked really hard on it so I was honored to be the one to bring her in for a landing. Dan did a fine job mixing it. Check out the ample audio below:
Love and Rockets tribute charts.
“New Tales To Tell” Love & Rockets comp featuring the track War Tapes went to #2 Today on Amazon Alt. Charts! I tracked and mixed the song “Loveless” with War Tapes at The Hacienda. We had so much fun and apparently War Tapes’ version was a favorite against other great contributions.
Sweet Machine

Sweet Machine traversed a couple time zones from Berlin, Germany to get their rock on. Not letting jet lag hold them back, they jumped right in and got into the Rancho vibe. We’re having a great time and very pleased with what’s coming out of the speakers. Chris Goss stopped by for a surprise visit and gave his blessings and shared a few laughs. Dave Catching is here. Hutch is here. The weather is great…..
Lexicon LIVE in Paris
Spent a couple weeks in Paris playing guitar and keyboards for Lexicon at a couple festival. Solidayz was the first one. We were privlidged with an invite to play at this Coachella-esque festival celebrating AIDS awareness and solidarity. There were 3000-4000 peeps, all jumping to the beat. The next show was a festival in Orleans. This show drew between 5000-6000 and rocked just as hard. Mosh pits + stage dives + crowd surfing = Party! The reviews rated rated us among the crowd favorites.
Danny Holt's "Fast Jump" receives great reviews.

I had the pleasure of mastering Danny’s latest release. Produced by Mike Garson this full length is an intriguing journey through the landscapes of contemporary composers.
“Dear Friends,
Many of you know about this already—but some of you haven’t heard from me in years. I’m very excited to announce that my solo CD Fast Jump is now available on Innova Recordings.
Fast Jump is currently a featured new release on iTunes (check out the contemporary classical page), and it was selected as one of the best new releases of June by WNYC’s New Sounds. Sequenza21.com writes: “Danny Holt is a brilliant player…he attacks the instrument with verve.”
The disc is jam-packed with music by some of my favorite composers: David Lang, Lona Kozik, Graham Fitkin, Caleb Burhans, and Jascha Narveson. The recording was produced by my friend and mentor Mike Garson (pianist for David Bowie, Nine Inch Nails, and others, and a fantastic composer/improviser).
Click here to buy the CD directly from the label. It’s also available through Amazon and other online retailers, and you can buy a digital download from iTunes and most other major digital download sites. In southern California, you can pick up a copy at Amoeba Music (Hollywood) or Rhino Records (Claremont).
Have a listen and please let me know what you think! If you like it, take a moment to write a short customer review on Amazon or iTunes to help spread the word.

Masters Of Reality – Pine/Cross Dover

The new Masters Of Reality record is to be released on August 24th in Europe. MOR now has a facebook page.
The Jury Pool debut with "Ulterior Motives EP"

I’m very proud to be apart of this bands debut release. “Ulterior Motives” is a seven song EP to be released on August 21, 2009. We’re rapping up the mix and handing it off to Gavin Lurssen for mastering. I’ve been getting into mastering more and more these days… outta necessity. I’ve been happy with the results, and getting better with each attempt, though having the opportunity to hand it off is most welcome after being so involved. Please check The Jury Pool out and come to the release show/party at The Viper Room on August 21.
Welcome to my new site!

Thank you for your interest. I hope your experience is fun and informative. This site is essentially an online business card for me. I also try to share a bit of my experiences for those that are interested and want to dig a little deeper into the projects I’ve been apart of.
Update
Happy New Year! Just a little update of the past 6 months.
A lot has happened. First, I would like to say that a new earthlings? EP,
titled ‘humalien’, is available at Treasure
Craft Records. Treasure Craft Records and their online music store
occupied a lot of my time last year and I think we developed a platform
that will be the final nail in the major label’s coffin. Just kidding.
It’s a grass roots operation that’s accmmodating world wide sales.
2008 was an amazing year that started with Masters
Of Reality and ended with War Tapes and Sleepmask. War
Tapes is an amazing
band that’s been making killer music for quite some time.
You should check them out. They’re preparing to release their first full
length in the very near future. Sleepmask was a wonderful surprise. They
had their shit together and were super cool. We recorded and mixed three
songs with William Mohler, of War Tapes and The Jimmy Chamberlin Complex
and too many other roles to list, in the producers chair.
Brody Dahl’s (formerly of Distillers) new band Spinnerette has
just released a brand new EP that includes my mix of “Bury My Heart”.
I’ve had the pleasure of listening to a few songs off the record and
it’s pretty radical. Check out her website it’s done realy well.
2008 was cool but I’m looking forward to ’09. It’s off
to a great start. I started by mixing the score for Melissa
Auf der Maur‘s
short film Out Of Our Minds (OOOM). It was directed by Tony Stone and
is part of a multi-media record release that includes a comic book. An
EP is now available on MAdM’s website that includes songs I mixed.
Creatures

Back in the studio with Sensei Chris Goss. We teamed up once again to Mix the LP titled Transylvania for the band Creature With The Atom Brain. CWTAB is based out of Antwerp, Belgium. The music they created is really interesting and artful. Every track we pulled up was fun to mix. Frontman Aldo Struyf (Millionaire) joined us to oversee his new creature and was a joy to work with. His musical pallette was broad and drew from many great influences ranging from turkish acid rock of the 60′s to rhythmic textures of the seventies, the “raw power” of The Stooges to the simplistic beauty of Lennon, but, with a fresh modern twist. Mark Lanegan came to the studio for a guest vocal appearance and he killed it. Recording his voice is an experience. When it hits the mic and comes through the speakers it’s so rich and deep you can almost touch it!
